PS5 Pro vs PS5 Slim: which one should you buy in the UAE?
By the Seven Seas Dawn team · 14 October 2026
Both consoles play the same PS5 library, use the same DualSense controller and connect to the same PlayStation Network account. The difference is how good games look and run, how much you can store, and whether you play discs.
What the PS5 Pro adds
The PS5 Pro has a more powerful GPU, faster ray tracing and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), an AI upscaler that makes games sharper on a 4K TV. Many games ship a "Pro Enhanced" mode that holds a steadier frame rate or adds detail.
It comes with a 2TB SSD, twice the storage of the Slim, and Wi-Fi 7. It does not include a disc drive; you can add the PS5 Disc Drive later if you buy games on disc.
Why the PS5 Slim is still the best value
The PS5 Slim plays every PS5 game, with a 1TB SSD, 4K output and ray tracing. If your TV is 1080p, or you mainly play online shooters and sports games, you will see much less difference from the Pro.
The Slim Disc version has the Ultra HD Blu-ray drive built in, which matters if you like to buy, trade or gift physical games.
Quick answer
Choose the PS5 Pro if you have a 4K TV, play big single-player games and want the best picture. Choose the PS5 Slim Disc if you want to play discs or spend less. Either way, add a second DualSense if you play with friends at home.
