Switch 2 keeps the idea of the original Switch, a console you can play on the TV or take with you, and upgrades almost everything: the screen, the controllers, the storage and the power for TV play.
What is new
The screen is a 7.9-inch 1080p LCD with HDR and up to 120Hz. Joy-Con 2 controllers attach with magnets and can be used like a mouse in supported games. The dock outputs up to 4K, and there is 256GB of storage inside.
Most original Switch games run on Switch 2, and some get a Switch 2 Edition with upgrades.
Storage: you need microSD Express
To add storage on Switch 2 you need a microSD Express card. Standard microSD cards from the original Switch can only be used to copy screenshots and videos, not to store or play games.
Regional versions
Switch 2 consoles sold in the UAE come in different regional packs (for example UK or GCC). They play the same games and use the same eShop account; the differences are the plug and the packaging. If a product has more than one version, we show it on the product page so you can choose.
Worth adding
A Switch 2 Pro Controller is the most comfortable way to play on the TV. A case protects the larger screen when you travel.
